Our first Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and wish that you all have a prosperous New Year!

Although last Christmas Toney and I were very much in Love and were planning on spending our lives together, unfortunately, we were unable to spend Christmas together meaning this Christmas was extra special for us.

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, spending the most part of a week with all the family, playing games, eating your weight in food and just enjoying the time with loved ones. What more could you want?

This Christmas it was only the three of us (Toney’s dad joined us) as grateful as I am that Toney and I were able to spend Christmas together, I missed my family terribly back in England too. I’ve never spend Christmas away from home so it definitely felt different this year, much quieter & not quite the same. Nevertheless, I had my first American Christmas with my wonderful partner.

Toney made an awesome Christmas dinner with both turkey & ham, lots of trimmings and he spent the whole of Christmas eve baking desserts & pastries. I tried my first ever peach cobbler with homemade ice cream and whipped cream, it was delicious! We spent the rest of Christmas Day watching films, playing games and relaxing.

The following day, what we would call “Boxing Day” in England we spent enjoying more leftovers with more relaxing. On the evening we decide to take a stroll through a very Christmassy Eustis town and have dinner at the local restaurant we enjoy eating at called 1884.

Looking forward to reading about how you spent your Christmas and can’t wait to get back into my blogging routine in the New Year!

Happy New Year to you all! May your 2018 be perfect!

LOVE,

  1. That’s so sweet that Toney spent all the time cooking and baking for you and his dad! I’m so happy you were able to spend the holiday with him this year but sorry you were missing your family!
The Eustis lights are beautiful. Happy New Year, Rosie! πŸ’–

    1. Awe, that’s such a lovely comment Hunida! Thank you! ❀️ I know! He’s a goodun as we say in England. Then again I can’t good to save my life (its on my New Years list πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ) and his dad doesn’t cook so it was either him or nothing haha.
We’re planning on spending next Christmas in England so fingers crossed 🀞🏼🀞🏼

      3. Yes! I LOVE HOBBY LOBBY. It’s so affordable! Well, our parents are a lot closer than yours. They live about 4 hours away from each other. So we spend Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with my husbands family. So, it works out. πŸ™‚

      4. Me too! We went the other day and everything was half off! It’s funny cause we don’t have hobby lobby in England so the first time I went I was shocked at the prices then because it’s in dollars it’s even more cheaper than England! 😁😬 only problem is you want to buy everything! I’ll have to do a post about our haul at hobby lobby 🀣🀣 (thanks for the inspiration!)
Oh not bad at all! May I ask which state you live in? We’re looking at moving out of Florida January β€˜19 so we’re looking into other states now ☺️

      5. Haha yes! A hobby lobby haul would be amazing! I live in California. Perfect sunny weather, but it’s super expensive!! And far from England. Which states are you guys interested in? We are also looking to buy our first home too. πŸ™‚ exciting and scary. πŸ™ˆ
