2018 – What I’m hoping for you

Hey bloggers!

So 2018 is just around the corner! Another year that has just past us all without looking back.

Last New Year’s Eve I was at work, working the night shift on the neonatal unit looking after the babies. I wonder what Toney & I will be doing this NYE! What have you all got planned?

So as the new year approaches I’m thinking to myself what I’d like to achieve in the following year to come. Are you one to set loads of New Years resolutions & goals for the new year or just a few or none at all?

I’m not a huge New Year’s Eve fan, I’ve never been one to go out and celebrate as in England it’s always expensive to go out at New Years and I never really enjoyed the atmosphere. However I am looking forward to spending New Years in our new Home (if we’re moved in! Fingers crossed!).

I enjoy setting goals for the New Year, clean start, out with the old & in the with new. Especially with so many changes this past year and so much to look forward to in the next.

My main goal/achievement I’m hoping for, is that by the end of next year I will have secured an RN job that I enjoy. There are so many different aspects involved with starting out in a new country, but most importantly if I can secure a job I enjoy I can provide and continue earning as I was back in England.

2018 may possibly outdo 2017 for being full on. We’re hoping to move into our new home before Christmas if not before New Years. As your all know we have our big Disney wedding April 3rd. We’ve made no decisions on a honeymoon as yet also because we’re traveling to England in October for three weeks for my sisters wedding (expensive year for the parents!).

We’re also then hoping to travel back to England for three weeks at Christmas too which would be fab as we both would love to travel back to Amsterdam too. Along with whatever else next year decides to bring, hopefully good health and happiness to us all.

To all my blogging friends (especially American!) while I’m looking into & writing my goals for next year, as a newbie to the states just starting out, do you have any recommendations for new hobbies, things to do/see/try out next year? If so let me know, I’d love to hear.

LOVE,

  1. Oh my gosh, a Disney wedding?! That is so adorable! I can’t wait to see those photos! Now that you are in Florida, if you aren’t already, I would recommend getting scuba certified if you are able to afford it! πŸ™‚ There are a lot of great companies down there and a lot of really cool things to see in the water! Plus, once you are certified, you are certified for life! As far as things to see in the states, there are SO MANY! It really depends on what you are into! πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see all of your 2018 successes! πŸ™‚

    1. I know! I’m so excited! 😁 thank you 😘
Really?! One of the girls I’ve actually met through my blog does canoeing which I thought about, never really considered scuba as I wasn’t sure if the amount of places to go. I’m going to have a search though cause I’d deffo have ago at doing it!
I’m guessing you have got certified then? If so have you been to many places to scuba?
Thanks so much, can’t wait to see yours too!

      1. I just got certified while I was in Florida this last year at college. I have only been on a few dives so far, but the ocean life I saw during it was incredible! I’m not sure where in FL you are, but if you are anywhere near Phil Foster Park at Blue Heron Bridge, it is a great place to go snorkeling/free diving! It was really close to where I was living, so I went as much as I could. Super calm waters! πŸ™‚ Canoeing and kayaking would be really fun hobbies to pick up as well! I’ve tried both in FL, and I love them both!

      2. Oh that’s awesome & sounds amazing! I’ve just checked and we’re 2.5 hours from there so not too far! I’m going to check it out, i love doing things like that but with it always being freezing in England and not having any lakes like we do out here wasn’t really a thing to take up! Thanks for all the advice πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜˜ I’ll deffo post about it and tag you to something 😁 x

      3. I’m sure there are probably similar beaches that are closer to where you are that are also great. πŸ™‚ Phil Foster park is actually an Intracoastal Waterway beach, which is why it is so calm and clear. However, I’m sure they have more further north. πŸ™‚ I am from Wyoming, where we are completely landlocked and are known for harsh winters with freezing temperatures, so I totally understand! Really, any of the water areas in Florida are great to visit! πŸ™‚

  2. Hi! I am new to blogging and currently have a life that has been a bit nomadic. I just moved back to the States after living in Germany for a bit, and your blog caught my eye. Best of luck in 2018 and with your wedding! One of the best hobbies that my husband and I got was through our wedding. We got bikes to get in better shape, and now have been traveling to many national parks biking together! It has been fun and helps us unwind together

    1. Sorry for the delayed reply!
Hey! Oh wow, busy like me thenπŸ™ˆ I hope you get to have a relaxing Christmas together!
      Thanks very much ☺️
Oh that’s awesome, Toney has a bike in the garage but only the one. Do you guys cycle around near your home or travel to cycling paths? I’ll mention that to him as I enjoy a bike ride, thanks for the great suggestion 😘☺️☺️
